Wieland is hiring a Foundry Machine Operator. The Foundry Machine Operator is responsible for supporting machine shop and foundry operations by operating production equipment, performing casting and material processing activities, and producing quality products in accordance with established specifications and safety standards. This role supports efficient manufacturing operations through adherence to quality requirements, safe work practices, and by assisting with warehouse and other production activities as needed to meet business objectives.

This role is located in Kilgore, TX and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $19.00 - $20.00

Schedule: 6AM - 4PM; Monday - Thursday; Friday if needed

Pay Schedule: Bi-Weekly



Responsibilities

Foundry Machine Operator Responsibilities:

    Create and maintain a safe, organized, and clean working environment
  • Responsible for the set-up, process, and maintenance of Turret Lathe
  • Take rough castings from the foundry and process with machinery
  • Operate machinery in a safe manner to ensure quality product
  • Inspect material before and after operation for imperfections
  • Load and unload product from the machinery for processing
  • Operate and handle melting / holding equipment
  • Perform quality inspections, including visual
  • Assemble, rebuild, set up, maintain, and operate equipment such as cranes, forklifts, hand tools, etc.
  • Inspect inventory and product orders for accuracy
  • Report on product discrepancies to management
  • Perform all applicable SOP's, JSA's, and QAP's
  • Actively communicate with teammates
  • Operate forklifts to move material
  • Other Operations tasks, as assigned

Foundry Machine Operator Qualifications:

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail (critical skill)
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to communicate professionally with coworkers and management
  • Ability to work as part of a team and help teammates when necessary
  • Ability to work occasional Saturday hours as required by the position
  • Ability to work in warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to read dimensioned engineering drawings
  • Ability to read a tape measure and calipers
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Understanding of manufacturing industries (preferred)
  • Experience in foundry/casting industry (preferred)

  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Remain in a standing and/or walking position for extended periods, up to 10 hours per shift.
  • Frequently bend, twist, stoop, reach, and perform other movements required to complete assigned duties.
  • Perform work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while meeting production schedules and deadlines.
  • Reliably distinguish colors when required to safely perform essential job duties.
  • Wear and properly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE) for assigned tasks.
  • Work in areas where electromagnetic fields may be present. Employees with implanted medical devices or other medical restrictions should notify Human Resources to determine whether reasonable accommodation can be provided and whether the work environment can be safely accessed.
