The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $121,243- $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills. What You Will Do In This Role:
Monitor commissioning quality and project deadlines during in-office and on-site project execution. Support and lead the Commissioning Engineers that are on site. Understand if the user modification can be handled at Commissioning (project) level or if the modification requires SC3 Controls SW Development involvement. Implement basic user customization, analyze the results, and track any deviation from the desired behavior. Serve as the point person with Controls SW Commissioning Engineering and SC3 Controls SW Development. Lead Project Managers and participate in Design Reviews. Develop safe PLC program based on electrical drawings, safety schematics, and system specification. Produce the safety checklist documentation for the Dematic Circular Sorter Crossbelt System (SC3) and ensure compliance with ISO-9000 standards. Ensure Engineers complete "Factory acceptance test" to test all equipment with the configuration environment. Ensure Commissioning Engineers perform tests and bring complex systems into an operational state (commissioning). Commission the Dematic Circular Sorter Crossbelt System (SC3) as stand-alone (off-line commissioning) and test the safe PLC program in accordance with the safety checklist. Integrate the Dematic Circular Sorter Crossbelt System (SC3) with the rest of the material-handling system (on-line commissioning or integration test) and test the PLC interface signals with conveyors, chutes, warehouse management systems (WMS), scanners, volume sensors, scales, and SCADA systems. Develop, configure, and troubleshoot PC-based control systems programmed in C and C++ running on the QNX real-time operating system for industrial PCs. Verify synchronization between PLC and PC-based control layers and confirm all communication interfaces function correctly. Analyze and review electrical, mechanical, and software designs of the crossbelt sorter to ensure compliance with functional and safety specifications. Support modernization and upgrade projects for legacy and current SC3 sorter systems. Apply knowledge of discontinued and proprietary system components to maintain service continuity across global installations.
What We Are Looking For:
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or closely related field, and 5 years' experience as a Controls Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or closely related occupation. Also requires 3 years of experience with software and commissioning of legacy and current commercial Crossbelt technologies; developing PLC program; using hardware and PLC programming (AB); using PC based control system programmed in C language; performing Controls Engineering and Commissioning of Sorter Crossbelt SC3; developing C/C++ program; using QNX real time OS on an Industrial PC; and interfacing the Sorter Crossbelt SC3 with the systems provided by external vendors (conveyor, chutes, WMS, scanner, volume sensors, scales, SCADA).
