About the RoleAtrius Health, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Mammography Technologist I to join its Radiology team in Dedham, MA. In this full-time role, you will perform mammography examinations under the guidance of a radiologist while ensuring diagnostic quality, patient safety, and compliance with MQSA and state regulations. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care while working within a collaborative, multi-specialty healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform mammography exams in accordance with MQSA standards, state regulations, and established protocols.
- Verify clinical information, obtain patient histories, and produce high-quality diagnostic images using the lowest appropriate radiation dose.
- Promote patient comfort, safety, confidentiality, and emotional well-being throughout the imaging process.
- Communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare team members.
- Identify and report equipment issues promptly to departmental leadership.
- Maintain continuing education and licensure requirements and assist with training new mammographers as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC, or similar) from an accredited institution or governmental unit.
- Graduate of an accredited radiography program.
- Licensed in Radiography with at least 1 year of experience.
- Passed the ARRT Mammography examination.
- Current Massachusetts Mammography license.
Preferred Qualifications
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), if required based on specialty.
- Knowledge of mammography equipment, MQSA regulations, and ACR standards.
- Knowledge of PACS and related imaging technology.
- General understanding of healthcare delivery services.
- Ability to learn and master image quality and safety requirements.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations.
- Ability to perform mammography exams efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $28.94 - $51.63 per hour
