We are seeking a highly motivated Summer Intern to join our Mobile Robots team and contribute to the advancement of autonomous navigation technologies. In this role, you will research and implement pioneering SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) algorithm improvements using Rust, C++ and Python, and test and validate solutions on real autonomous guided vehicles (AGVs). You will collaborate closely with engineering teams to prepare algorithm enhancements for production use, while detailing experimental results and presenting findings to technical collaborators. This internship offers hands on experience with real robotic platforms, advanced autonomy algorithms, and applied research in an environment focused on real-world application. We offer:

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $19.00 - $23.00 per hour at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do in this Role:

  • Research and implement state-of-the-art SLAM algorithm improvements in C++/Python.
  • Test and validate solutions on real autonomous guided vehicles.
  • Collaborate with engineering to prepare improvements for production.
  • Detail experimental results and present findings.

What We are Looking For:

  • CS, Robotics, or Engineering student (3.0+ GPA) with strong C++, Python, or Rust skills.
  • Experience withROS2(Robot Operating System) is highly preferred.
  • Academic or project background in autonomous systems, SLAM, or computer vision.
