The Client Service Representative is responsible for answering incoming telephone calls and maintaining an open line of communication between the laboratory and physician offices. The incumbent will follow through on customer inquiries and requests and assume responsibilities for completing individual work assignments.

This position is part-time. Employees are required to work Monday - Friday from 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm and every other Saturday from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and/or weekends.

We offer 4 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming telephone calls and respond to customer needs.
  • Research patient test results as needed, and give verbal results and/or send results to ordering client based upon needs of the physician's office.
  • Research missing test results and attempts to resolve - if unable to do so, directs call to appropriate supervisor.
  • Research specimen requirements per request of client.
  • Process add on requests for additional testing of specimens as needed (dependent upon specimen stability).
  • Correct test reports and file appropriate paperwork as needed.
  • Dispatch Laboratory Couriers as needed to pick up specimens from physician offices.
  • Communicate with reference lab (Quest Diagnostics) to respond to customer inquiries regarding test results, specimen requirements, etc.
  • Notify Quest Laboratory of need to pick up STAT specimens from physician offices.
  • Review test reports from reference laboratory; follow appropriate protocols for processing Quest reports.
  • Review logs generated by the Harvest OEL LIS Computer system and communicate as needed.
  • Assist in Laboratory Quality Assurance program to ensure high quality service is delivered to customers.
  • Sort mail to be delivered via Courier.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED OR equivalent work experience
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Flexibility to work Part Time Monday - Friday from 12:30 pm - 5:30 pm and every other Saturday from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of customer service experience; experience in a call center environment
  • 1+ years of experience in the healthcare industry, laboratory, or medical office
  • Familiarity with medical terminology
  • Experience working with EPIC

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 - $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
