This position coordinates, implements, and supports the day-to-day activities needed to effectively execute clinical initiatives, programs and processes in the promotion of clinical operations and Quadruple Aim. Promotes Practice Health and Safety (PHS) standards and supports the creation & sustainment of evidence-based tools, policies, standing delegation orders and standards of practice. Additionally, this position will provide a wide variety of collaborative support for Enterprise Clinical Operations to ensure applicable program requirements and operational processes are met. This position will proactively work across the organization to drive short- and long-term operational success of program initiatives.

Provides leadership in daily clinical operations of the Practice Health & Safety department, in accordance with established State rules and regulations, AAAHC and Optum assessment standards. Develops and enforces compliance within all areas of Kelsey-Seybold Clinics. Collaborate with the entire enterprise to include providers, Senior Directors, Sr Director of Nursing, Quality, Nurse Managers and Supervisors, Business Office Manager, Clinical Education, Staff, and Medical Staff Leadership.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • 20% CLINICAL ACTIVITIES
    • Manages daily clinical operations of Practice Health & Safety department. The manager position responsibilities include managing the daily work activities of the department staff, ensuring quality, productivity, functional excellence, and efficiency while assisting leadership in accomplishing strategic and operational objectives. Establishes, maintains, analyzes, and evaluates standards of nursing care within the PAT in compliance with professional nursing standards.
  • 20% EMPLOYEE MANAGEMENT
    • Performs management responsibilities of selection, scheduling, supervision, retention, and evaluation of employees in the department. Utilizes advanced reporting application systems to determine the effectiveness of department and individual staff performance and quality. Provides development and mentoring of staff. Provides fair and consistent leadership with communication to maintain a competent and engaged team.
  • 10% SAFETY
    • Maintains a safe environment and adheres to all facility safety regulations and KSC Safety programs. Provides leadership for development of policies and procedures for patient safety and compliance of National Patient Safety Goals.
  • 10% QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES
    • Utilizes principles of process improvement, including tools such as PDSA, to evaluate and improve upon current performance levels in the ASC. Identifies and implements innovative solutions for practice to improve operations. Proactively evaluates processes; recommends and implements action plans for change. Appropriately documents any occurrences with appropriate investigations, corrective action planning and escalations. Manages Remediation processes with all Leaders at Kelsey-Seybold leaders to comply with identified opportunities through assessments. Identifies policies that require revisions and updates related to Practice Health and Safety standards. Coordinate with practice staff on remediation activities surrounding identified opportunities for improvement, from initiation through completion
  • 10% CUSTOMER SERVICE
    • Maintains active professional relationships with patients, providers, and staff. Takes a proactive approach to resolution. Conducts self in accordance with the Mission and Values. Consults with Kelsey -Seybold leaders to ensure regulatory and Practice Health and Safety standards are aligned in providing high quality care to patients. Provide subject matter expertise and guidance related to patient safety, regulatory compliance, accreditation standards, and evidence-based practice
  • 10% UTILIZATION OF RESOURCES

    • Manages the department within the budget for FTE's, per-diem and non-employee resources. Notifies the director when staffing needs will change to meet the care of the patient. Provides input/assists with completion of capital and operations budget development. Actively involved in decision-making process for product/equipment purchases.
  • 10 % Communication
    • Maintains open and on-going communication with all members of physicians and operations leadership teams. Establishes effective, two-way communication with staff, demonstrating active listening, requesting and acknowledging feedback, making equitable decisions, providing rationale when appropriate.
  • 10% Program support functions and other duties as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid and current Texas RN license
  • 5+ years clinical management experience
  • Computer skills; working knowledge with Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Proven policy and procedure development

  • Master's/Doctrine

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
