Optum Care West is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to support regional financial reporting and consolidation across our healthcare organization - critical to the mission of helping our customers live healthier lives and making the healthcare system work better for everyone. In this role, you'll coordinate inputs across local markets and national finance partners, consolidate results, develop ad hoc models, and deliver clear insights that inform decision-making and measure business performance. This high-visibility role requires precision, strong communication, and outstanding attention to detail. You'll work closely with accounting and other finance professionals with the intention of guiding our success as a global industry leader. You will have the support and resources of a Fortune 5 industry leader behind you every step of the way.

If you are located in Draper UT, you will follow a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support monthly close processes by consolidating results and preparing clear summaries for senior leadership
  • Assist in creating presentations for senior leadership, translating complex financial data into strategic insights
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and scenario modeling to support investment decisions, operational planning, and cost management initiatives
  • Collaborate heavily with Finance and Market resources, shared services, and operational teams to meet reporting needs and ensure accuracy
  • Drive monthly and quarterly IOI variance analyses by identifying trends and providing actionable recommendations to optimize performance and strengthen financial planning
  • Build and maintain advanced Excel-based financial bridge models to quantify changes in key drivers of business performance
  • Support quarterly forecasting cycles and annual budget planning, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and regulatory requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in finance or accounting
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience in PowerPoint for executive-level presentations
  • Solid understanding of corporate reporting
  • Proven solid analytical skills with a focus on delivering timely, accurate, and detailed results
  • Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare finance, especially supporting shared services or technology initiatives
  • Experience with financial systems such as Anaplan, Planful, PowerBI, Essbase, PeopleSoft, or similar ERP/forecasting tools
  • Experience with value-based care financial models and outcome-driven budgeting
  • Familiarity with cost allocation models and real-time performance monitoring tools
  • Demonstrated success in aligning financial planning with operational and strategic goals

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $91,700 to $163,700 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
