Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain all physical plant equipment including water chillers, steam and hot water boilers, air compressors, generators, cooling towers, air handlers, and HVAC systems
  • Respond to Building Automation System alarms, utility interruptions, and facility emergencies
  • Complete minor preventive maintenance work and machinery history logs
  • Respond to facility service outages by making immediate repairs or initiating recall of appropriate personnel
  • Perform general preventive maintenance and repair services to all physical plant operating equipment, hydraulic machinery, and mechanical systems during non-standard working hours (evenings, shift work, including weekends)

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • City of Houston 2nd Grade Stationary Engineer
  • High Pressure Boiler experience
  • Operating Room, Medical Air Systems and Life Safety Systems experience
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints, sketches, O&M Manuals, and diagrams
  • Independent work in both routine and emergency situations
  • Effective communications skills
  • Basic electrical skills
  • Maintain knowledge of state, local and Uniform Mechanical Codes
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Applicants subject to background investigation & driving record evaluation
  • Driver's license and access to reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HVAC/R journeyman's license
  • CFC Certification
  • Experience in emergency response, hazardous materials handling, applicable OSHA/EPA regulations
  • Familiarity with Siemens Controls and Trane Tracer building automation systems and EPAC Work Order System
  • Computer skills; working knowledge of MS Office

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $28.94 to $51.63 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
