The VP of AI Products for Optum Insight's Payer team is charged with the success and improvement for Payer customers. The mission will be to work with technology teams to develop world-class AI platforms for our customers, focusing on product features and enhancing overall performance. This will require a high level of strategic thinking and ability to develop internal and external partnerships. It will involve highly complex technical build outs. This work will be a key component of the Optum Insight growth plan, with potential to drive hundreds of millions of TCV (Total Contract Value).

Responsibilities:



  • Formulate product strategy, financial plans and execution plans for the business and be responsible for the product P&L, generating YoY double digit growth.
  • Develop and refine product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI-powered products or features, aligned with company objectives and market trends.
  • Deliver against business results: revenue and IOI targets.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, data scientists, engineers, and designers to define product requirements and ensure AI solutions address customer needs and business goals.
  • Manage the product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and high-quality standards.
  • Gather and incorporate user feedback, market trends, and technological advancements into the product development process to ensure continuous improvement and competitiveness.


Skills:



  • Proven leadership in scaling product organizations and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Solid execution orientation-comfortable balancing long-term vision with near-term delivery
  • Expertise in building products for complex, highly regulated environments like healthcare
  • Deep understanding of user experience for providers, payors, and administrative staff
  • Excellent decision-making and prioritization skills in ambiguous and high-velocity environments
  • Solid collaborator and communicator who can align stakeholders and influence across all levels.
  • Deep expertise in building AI first products with experience in generative AI and Agentic systems.

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study
  • 10+ years of combined experience and a proven record of building AI powered platforms, delivering measurable results and developing and leading growth programs or initiatives.
  • 10+ years of clinical or revenue cycle management leadership and operational experience
  • Understand AI and machine learning concepts and technologies.
  • Experience leading and growing the P&L of a business in a healthcare organization.
  • Experience working with product development, launching new products, and thinking innovatively.
  • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource development, and strategic planning.
  • Experience in managing budgets that include sales/bookings targets, revenue targets, client satisfaction targets, and expense targets.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • MBA or advanced technical degree
  • Background in healthcare technology, enterprise SaaS, or AI driven platforms

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $196,600 to $337,100 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
