The Infusion RN Supervisor is responsible for implementation of standard clinical processes as well as ongoing supervision of all clinical staff in the Infusion Department. The Supervisor will oversee day-to-day operations and is responsible for: quality management and control, performance improvement and training. The Supervisor is responsible for creating effective working relationships between staff and providers and working collaboratively with, both internal and external Optum Medical Group providers and staff. The Infusion RN supervisor will be able and expected to perform Infusion RN duties with a reduced patient schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Provides day-to-day supervision of Infusion nurses and staff. Serves as an organizational change agent, providing coaching to staff
  • Monitors clinic flow to improve efficiencies and productivity
  • Ensure Infusion policy and procedures are updated at least annually and followed
  • Coordinates and participates in interviewing, hiring and managing clinical staff, to include timecard approval and PTO requests, in conjunction with the Clinical Pharmacy Manager
  • Completes performance appraisals, promoting staff development activities, utilizing performance improvement procedures as necessary, and adhering to the company policies and procedures
  • Communicates performance expectations, providing regular feedback and consistently managing these expectations
  • Utilizes Optum Medical Group's resources to implement standard work processes
  • Responds in the case of a medical emergency
  • Covers nursing staff in the event of a call-out or staff shortage
  • Works with directors and staff to ensure availability of adequate resources, supplies, equipment and services
  • Tracks and reports Daily Management System metrics
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and with clinic standards of quality patient care
  • Collaborates to develop, implement and manage continuous Performance Improvement
  • Ensures timely and accurate documentation in the patient record and input of data into outcomes database
  • Ensures appropriate compliance with Clinical Practice Guidelines. Retrospectively reviewing quality report(s) and collaborating with others to act on improvement opportunities
  • Monitors patient, referring physician and customer satisfaction
  • Builds and develops effective working relationships with physicians, APC's, clinical and support staff
  • Develops an effective team, motivating and influencing staff to excel. Prepares and facilitates team meetings. Encourages all staff to interact positively and in a spirit of good teamwork with members of other departments
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current Oregon RN license
  • Current healthcare level CPR certification
  • 3+ years of professional nursing experience


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Management/Leadership experience
  • Experience working in an electronic medical record system


The salary range for this role is $71,600 to $140,600 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
