Overview

Reporting to the Associate Director, Long Range Planning, the Manager of Financial Planning & Portfolio Analytics is responsible for supporting the company's long-range financial planning processes, in addition to supporting portfolio financial analyses and decision-making. This includes analyzing financial trends and risks, supporting strategic analysis and recommendations across the R&D portfolio, and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders in the business and Finance. This role requires strong financial analysis, business acumen, and the ability to use data to support actionable insights.

This position ishybridand will be primarily located inCambridge, MA.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the annual Long Range Plan, including coordination of inputs from business units and consolidation of financial projections
  • Partner with FP&A business partners and cross-functional teams to gather data and align on key planning assumptions
  • Build financial models to support various portfolio scenarios, analysis and valuations
  • Analyze historical results, market trends, and competitive landscape to validate assumptions and identify risks/opportunities in long-range projections
  • Generate comprehensive presentations of financial analysis, tailored to variance audiences including executive leadership and board of directors
  • Support a continuous improvement mindset, working with FP&A and business units to enhance and automate processes and evaluate tools to support alignment, data collection, analysis, etc.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Accounting, Tax, Treasury & BD, leveraging LRP data to support other workstreams
  • Assist in development of ad hoc financial analyses, models and projects to support strategic investments and decision-making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field required; MBA or CFA a plus
  • Minimum 4+ years of relevant financial experience (e.g. Corporate Finance, FP&A, Accounting, Strategy) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting and finance principles and financial statements.
  • Strong financial analysis and data interpretation skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and an eagerness to collaborate with colleagues in sharing insights and learnings
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial planning software/tools
  • Expertise in financial modeling, data analysis, and developing insightful recommendations from complex data sets preferred
  • Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred
