Skagit 911 answers all 9-1-1 calls and dispatches public safety responders within Skagit County's borders and parts of Whatcom County. 9-1-1 call-taking and answering is a highly technology driven industry and Skagit 911 is no exception. Skagit 911 designed, built and maintain most of the radio technology used by public safety within Skagit County. Skagit 911 utilizes Washington State's 9-1-1 telephony network, Skagit County's and WSP's criminal databases, a Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system called Spillman, and our own public safety grade radio system in order to aid citizens and visitors in need while also monitoring public safety responders in order to keep everyone safe.

Dispatchers/Call-Takers work together to answer, process and dispatch first responders to 9-1-1 calls within Skagit County's borders and parts of Whatcom. Skagit 911 Dispatchers/Call-Takers work 12 hour shifts in a three (days) on, four off, four on, three off schedule. When needed, there is mandated overtime. Skagit 911's management team works with the union, SEIU 925, to ensure a safe and fair working environment for all Dispatchers/Call-Takers.
