Clinical Therapist-CAC Grant funded position.

Job Summary: THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION. The Clinical Therapist-CAC Grant position demonstrates advanced clinical, problem solving and crisis intervention skills. Serves as a resource to other clinical therapists and the multi-disciplinary team members. Conducts clinical services, participates in case management and intervenes in high-risk situations. Complies with all legal and regulatory reporting requirements, interventions, documentation and referrals. Collaborates with the treatment team, collateral contacts and community agencies to deliver the highest quality patient care services. Works within the scope of designated state license and may be required to provide clinical supervision to pre-licensed staff. Performs other duties as needed.

Education and Experience: Position requires a Master's Degree in Social Work from a regionally accredited institution, Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy or counseling related field, or Doctoral Degree from a regionally accredited institution in clinical psychology. Minimum two years of experience in a behavioral health care setting required. Experience working with victims of childhood trauma and neglect preferred.

Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of psychotherapy theory and techniques. Able to identify need for supervision/consultation, utilize such appropriately, and accept direction. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality; use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment. Able to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; Defuse aggravated situations with patients and families; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction. Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail. Able to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone; identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position; discern temperature variances through touch.

Licensures and Certifications: Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) license or Doctoral Degree in clinical psychology preferred. Unlicensed individuals including an Associate MFT, Associate Clinical SW or Associate PCC who are recruited and who qualify for licensure may be appointed for a maximum of one year at which time licensure shall have been obtained or the employment shall be terminated; an extension of the waiver may be granted for an additional one year based on extenuating circumstances. Individuals granted an additional one year based on extenuating circumstances may be appointed for a maximum of two years at which time licensure shall have been obtained or the employment shall be terminated. Additionally, they must take the licensure examination at the earliest possible date after the date of employment.
