DESCRIPTION

Decypher is seeking Medical Laboratory Technician candidates to provide support to the Joint Base Fort Lewis-McChord, Tacoma, WA. IMMEDIATE NEED FOR OVERNIGHT SHIFT

QUALIFICATIONS



  • Education: Must have completed an approved college-based laboratory

    technician certification program and passed the certification test by an approved organization such as the National Certification Agency (NCA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP).
  • Work Experience: 1 year of experience working in the clinical lab as a Medical Technician, 6 month experience rotation through all sections of a medical laboratory required.
  • Certification: Current certification/registration as determined by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologist (AMT). BLS - Basic Life Support from AHA required.
  • Must be team oriented and willing to assist in other labs as needed
  • NACI background check
  • Must be a U.S. citizen


RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Perform a full range of clinical laboratory tests in any one or a combination of the following sections of the laboratory: hematology, chemistry, cytology, histotechnology, urinalysis, serology, microbiology, phlebotomy or transfusion and blood bank
  • Heavy Phlebotomy while assisting in the PSS lab during PCS season
  • Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure that the physiologic state of the properties is maintained
  • Calibrate, standardize, adjust, and maintain instruments
  • Verify correct instrument operation using established procedures and quality control checks
