Minimum Qualifications |

Preferred Qualifications |
Two years of experience in assisting with the management and operations of a university recreational sports facilities, and experience directly supervising student employees. Master's degree preferred. Current American Red Cross certificates in

Position Summary |
This position is crucial to the successful operation and management of Rec Sports Satellite Facilities, including Pound Hall on the Health Sciences Campus, the Club Sports Complex, the Rec Sports Complex, and the Lake Herrick Pavilion. The position reports directly to the Assistant Director for Facility Operations and works as an integral member of the Recreational Sports staff in pursuing the departmental vision and mission. The Coordinator assists in the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of 30+ Satellite Operations student employees, and assists with the supervision of one Graduate Assistant for Facilities.
In addition to administrative and managerial duties, this position supports programs sponsored by the Department of Recreational Sports, the College of Education and the
UGA Athletic Association. This position also serves as liaison with the
UGA Facility Management Division (
FMD) in the management of facility operations as well as providing evening and weekend facility support, special event coordination, etc. as needed. |

- Excellent knowledge of facilities management and direct programming experience.
- Evidence of supervisory excellence including training student staff.
- Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communications skills.
- Proven ability in developing effective working relationships with university students, faculty, staff, alumni, administrators, and community stakeholders.
- Proven dynamic and innovative leadership in recreational sports with the ability to work successfully individually and as a member of a team.
- Experience in fiscal management, assessments, and evaluations.

Physical Demands |
- Move throughout the 440,000 sq. ft. Ramsey Student Center, Lake Herrick sandy beach and pavilion, and the departmental field complexes.
- Stand; walk; sit; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
- Climb up and down ladders and over small retaining walls; walk across narrow accesses such as 2 ft. walkways and 4 ft. wide bulkheads.
- Operate department-owned vehicles to run job-related errands.
- Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 50 pounds.

Facility Management:
- Assist in facility upkeep, staffing, risk management, and event operations of Pound Hall and Wheeler Gym on the Health Sciences Campus, the Club Sports Complex, the Rec Sports Complex, and the Lake Herrick Pavilion.
- Work cooperatively with the Competitive Sports team to ensure proper set up and breakdown of all intramural and club events, including painting fields, setting up tables and coolers, and setting up sporting goods (bases, cones, pylons, etc.)
- Design and plan a comprehensive informal recreation program that will encourage safe and enjoyable participation for all patrons.
- Assist in the management of facility construction and renovation projects, and other duties involving aspects of facility management.
- Help plan and design a comprehensive maintenance and replacement plan for over 50 pieces of strength and cardio equipment at Pound Hall.
- Oversee inventory of event materials utilized at Lake Herrick, including table skirts, chairs, tables, etc.
- Work with various departments and community groups for summer camps held at the Rec Sports Complex.
- Monitor inventory of all cleaning supplies lost and found items, and other materials at Pound Hall and other satellite facilities.

Personnel Management:
- Lead in the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of 30+ part-time Satellite Operations student employees.
- Assist with the supervision and project management of one Graduate Assistant.
- Actively promotes and participates in the development, retention, and engagement of each staff member.
- Oversee the "three strike policy" and other accountability procedures with Satellite Operations staff and hold disciplinary meetings when needed.
- Effectively train and empower staff to respond appropriately to incidents/accidents that occur within the facility, and complete proper reporting/documentation when necessary.
- Ensure completion of required PEP trainings and monthly eLC trainings.
- Monitor the CPR certifications for Satellite Operations staff and ensure effective executive of the facility EAP and other risk management protocols.
- Hold monthly Satellite Operations staff meetings and engagement events in conjunction with the Ramsey Operations staff.
- Monitor gaps in schedules in fill in as necessary.

- Educate facility patrons on policies and resolve situations relating to facility access, reservations, and usage policies.
- Work with Reservationist to ensure items on the daily schedule for all satellite facilities are accurate.
- Assist with developing risk management procedures to include emergency action and business continuity plans.
- Assist with assessment efforts focusing on identifying participation levels, informal recreation program participant interest, and learning and development objectives.
- Develop recommendations and implement new programs and activities.
