Position Summary


The Business Development Specialist is an integral part of our Business Development function. This function works across our clients and industries team to provide the very best support for the Business Development activities and initiatives these groups undertake to realize their commercial and marketing goals. The Business Development Specialist stakeholders would be senior Business Development team members, partners and other lawyers in the respective teams they have responsibility.

This role is a key step in the career track of our Relationship Management team who are responsible for the firm's largest global clients.


Duties and Accountabilities1



  • Support the Global Clients Team on initiatives to related to their overall business objectives, including as they relate to Global Key and Priority Clients and Global Industry Groups
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the Global Key and Priority Client programs and the Global Industry Groups
  • Coordinate efforts across business services to support ongoing relationship efforts including working closely with our Marketing Ops, Business Intelligence, Marketing Technology, Market Research and Creative Services teams
  • Proactively maintain and update client organization charts and relationship mapping documents for key and priority clients of each industry group
  • Assisting, and leading where possible, on RFP responses
  • Support in the preparation and follow up actions of client team meetings
  • Regularly review and use financial reports to help support client development efforts
  • Help update and maintain Connect and the Client Hub on all the best practice materials useful to the global client program
  • Support on internal communication strategies and activities, including leading on the creation and circulation of client related BD newsletters
  • Assist in the organization of internal and external events, including building relationships with key external organizations
  • Help share information with and build relationships with colleagues across the Firm to ensure an integrated industry and practice offering


Qualifications



  • Graduate with at least three (3) years of relevant and in-depth business development experience in a professional services firm
  • Experience working in a professional/financial services environment or similar role at a large corporation
  • Experience dealing with senior stakeholders and working autonomously
  • Excellent communication skills - written and oral - and ability to work at all levels
  • Excellent systems and database skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM applications
  • Flexible, committed and enthusiastic

Location and Reporting



  • This role is based in our New York office.
  • This role reports to the Associate Director, Global Clients.
