The Machine Assembler/Productions Worker performs all tasks involved in the production of the Pregis products as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Lead. The Machine Assembler/Production Worker follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible to support the production goals and corporate values of Pregis.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities




  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists, gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Reads production orders and performs work as assigned.
  • Utilizes handheld tools such as a handheld screw and drill gun.
  • Maintains inventory of product in workstations.
  • Attaches appropriate labels and tags to products and packages.
  • Identifies product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified.
  • Reworks and/or repairs assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes.
  • Packs finished goods into correct packages and/or boxes. Places finished goods on designated pallets as needed.
  • Tracks production and completion of production orders on schedule board or in computer system.
  • Notifies supervisor of any mechanical or material issues.
  • Performs all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area.
  • Participates in cross training opportunities to maximize effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Environment



  • Exposure to moving equipment
  • Inside work
  • Heat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Humidity may exceed 80%
  • Noise may exceed 85dB+



Physical Characteristics



  • Frequent standing, stooping, squatting, up to 75%
  • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 30 lbs)
  • Occasional typing/keyboarding/preparing documents, voice- assisted as needed



Position Type



  • Full time
  • Shift work - Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
  • Overtime expected per business demand



Education and Experience



  • High School diploma or equivalent required


  • Two years' manufacturing experience in an assembly environment preferred
