Lead/Senior Java and Angular Engineer

Cognizant's Digital Engineering practice is seeking a highly qualified Java/Angular Engineer with experience in Java and spring boot microservices, developing and building hard-working, scalable, enterprise applications. Location: Woodland Hills, CA, USA or Remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide application screen walkthrough to product owners and gather their feedback to address it.
  • Participate Integration Testing, UAT Testing, Defect Triaging, Production Implementation and Post-Production activities.
  • Participate & provide Deployment Support and Production Validation of release projects. Work on the emergency issues identified for the projects.
  • Execute batch jobs and provide support to other upstream and downstream systems.
  • Do estimation and scoping of Project Features, User stories and Defects.
  • Act as a key liaison between our client and our offshore software development team in India.


Qualifications:

  • Primary Skills: Java/Spring boot and Angular.
  • Work on release management activities effectively right from analysis and then prepare technical design and participate in development activities for the projects allocated in Agile PI and release cycles.
  • Perform detailed analysis on customer issues to determine root causes and propose solutions on those items. Strong ability to work and lead the team independently on complex issues, and to collaborate efficiently to resolve customer issues quickly.
  • Work in technologies J2EE, Angular.
  • Monitor the application performance, logs, reporting, custom processes, business transaction trends and production alerts of the application.
  • Involve in application production support activities such as production defects, emergency issues & ADHOC support.
  • Do the peer review of program components being developed & defect fixes.
  • Work pro-actively in all release application, system, infrastructure, other dependent changes and prevent potential issues by documenting and notifying system gaps to the respective application or infrastructure support teams.


Salary and compensation

The annual salary for this position is between $110K - $145K depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program and stock awards, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
