Position Summary:
Making a vocal fold tissue bioreactor for tissue growth under dynamic loading.

Essential Functions:
- The candidate will work on creating a bioreactor for the growth of vocal fold tissue.
- It involves the design of the bioreactor versus microfluidics and programming a piezoelectric substrate.
- The candidate will test the bioreactor using hydrogels and human cell lines and optimize the growth parameters.
- Our overarching goal is to translate the proposed self-healing hydrogel system and the platform into otolaryngology clinics in the United States when we complete this grant.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering.
- At the university's discretion,
the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate
can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent
combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate
for success in the position.
