Position Summary:
The Hourly Project Coordinator will be
involved in providing administrative coordination for the Seat Belt Usage
Study.

Essential Functions:
The
work to be performed by the Hourly Project Coordinator includes the
following:
- Provides administrative support for
the data collection.
- Involved in the
development/updating of a Training Manual to be used to train seat belt usage
data collectors.
- Assists in the hiring of data
collectors and drivers. Interacts with
Human Resources to submit paperwork needed for posting the positions. Assists
in the hiring process, including setting up interviews, answering questions
and ensuring that the paperwork to be returned to Human Resources is
submitted by selected candidates.
- Works to provide materials to be
used by drivers to identify the locations where data should be gathered. Using google map, collect images of the
locations to be studied and possible locations for standing to observe seat
belt usage.
- Gathers information about schedule
availability of the data collectors and drivers and using that information
prepares a weekly data collection schedule.
- Gathers the number of hours worked
from the data collectors and submits it to the Department.
- Works with drivers to submit travel
reimbursements in a timely manner.
- Answers questions of data
collectors who are in the field and in need guidance.
- Monitors the submission of seat
belt data usage. Ensures data is
downloaded by the data collectors on a regular basis. Copies the data into a spreadsheet to
determine the usage rate based on the collected data on a weekly basis.
- Other duties as determined.

Prerequisite Qualifications:

Successful candidate must have good administrative skills.
- Have previously collected
seat belt usage data or performed in other transportation data collection.
- Able to multitask and
responsive to requests.
- At
the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be
exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the
university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically
preparing the candidate for success in the position.
