Position Summary:
The Postdoctoral researcher
will conduct engineering research, manage projects, and assist the Director of
the CNR in the implementation of projects led by CNR. The postdoc will communicate
the findings through reports and papers at various levels of detail.

Essential Functions:
-
Conduct experimental research in the field of Environmental Engineering, particularly on water quality and watershed management.
- Writes articles for publication in top journals or related.
- Assist or lead projects at CNR according to the scope of the project from the funding agencies.
- Prepares technical and financial progress reports for the projects lead by them.
- Develop training materials and monitoring plans for water quality, air quality and reducing urban heat islands. Communicate with project partners, community scientists and high school students, and design the training materials.
- Mentor undergraduate and graduate students with experimental research and technical writing.
interact with scientists/engineers from engineering organizations or in other fields, especially those investigating water quality, stormwater management and sustainability.
- Assist the Center Director in writing proposals related to civil, environmental engineering. Assists in proposal submissions on Streamlyne and any other federal and state systems according to the associated Request for Proposals.
- Assist the center director to manage all Center budget (grants, ICRs and Center funds) ensuring resources are allocated in a fashion that is aligned with NJIT guidelines, the mission, and goals of the Center.
- Assists the center director to manage the center and personnel, especially processing the Personnel Action Forms, initiating agreements and subcontracts, and conducting events such as symposiums, student workshops and seminars.
- Performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of CNR.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
-
The qualified candidate would have a PhD in Environmental, Civil
Engineering or a related field.
- They
must have a strong understanding of the environmental challenges and
transport of pollutants in open water.
- They need to have a demonstrated ability in writing articles for
publication in top journals, to possess excellent communication skills to
mentor graduate students, and to interact with scientists/engineers in other
fields, especially those investigating the quality of open waters.
- At the university's
discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where
the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an
equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the
candidate for success in the position.

lead the projects and team.
