IT Business Analyst II

Job Description

The Business Analyst II is responsible for the documentation of requirements as defined by the business and IT users; ensuring that the design(s) are aligned with the company's overall technical expectations and standards.

This person will lead the planning and requirements phase of initiatives. Serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet end user's needs.

This individual will also be responsible for translating high level business requirements into technical specifications for the IT organization. The change to any specifications must be managed throughout internal processes.. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation.

Job Responsibilities



  • Elicit Requirements using variety of methods including interviews, focus groups, surveys, brainstorming, observation, etc.
  • Document requirements clearly and cohesively such that a variety of audiences both technical and non-technical may comprehend them.
  • Translate business requirements into functional and non-functional feature specifications including ability to quantify / qualify the degree to which a feature addresses the desired business outcomes.
  • Document functional and non-functional feature specifications using a variety of methods including user stories, use cases, and diagrams.
  • Create and support client-facing presentations to enable solution development, use case development, any additional client education and engagement materials as needed.
  • Create, maintain and communicate status reports to stakeholders.
  • Act as champion and Voice of the Customer representing the stakeholders within the project.
  • Act as a communication bridge between the technical and business domains of a project.
  • Partnering with technical team to assist with design decisions and estimates for project tasks and change requests.
  • Coordinating user acceptance testing sessions.
  • Verify that requirements are testable and generate testing objectives. Ensure functional specifications are sound, efficient and support company goals.
  • Coordinate input, consensus and approvals from business partners regarding functional and system requirements.
  • Access Infinite Campus product customer data and customer infrastructure adhering to the practices and procedures outlined in the master security guidelines
  • Other related duties as assigned


Desired Background



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Business Administration
  • 3 years' experience in business analysis techniques and business rule(s) definition developing use cases, requirements traceability, wireframe development and the iterative development process
  • 3 years' experience writing clear and concise requirements and business communications.
  • 3 years team leadership skills including team building, understanding motivation and negotiation techniques and providing work direction to others.
  • Proven problem solving, analytical and time management skills
  • Experience in working with Salesforce, JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft and Project Management processes.
  • CBAP Certification desired
