Updated: Apr 14, 2024 UC Title: SURGICAL TCHN SR Position Number: 41079670 Reports to: Nurse Services Manager 2 Working Title: Senior Surgical Tech Float Cost Center: Periop Float Pool (427030) Bargaining Unit: AFSCME FLSA: Nonexempt Date Created: 3/27/2024 Job Code: 008930 Hours: 24 Shift: Not Applicable FTE: 0.6 Position Summary: The Sr. Surgical Tech utilizes advanced surgical techniques, working as part of the healthcare team to assist with direct patient care activities during medical procedures. Ensures the environment is safe, equipment is functioning properly and procedures are conducted in a way to maximize patient safety. Prepares and stocks the OR before and after surgery, by gathering and organizing clean and sterile supplies. Sets sterile instrument fields; maintains and monitors aseptic techniques. Assists with the orientation of new staff and participates on departmental committees. Required to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed. Salary Range: Hourly Rate Minimum $32.03 Midpoint $35.93 Maximum $39.83 Required Qualifications: Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays Required to float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed.
