General Information:

As a Supply Chain Intern, you will assist the Category Management team. You will use professional communication, critical thinking, and time management skills to support Category Managers on active strategic sourcing projects. As a Supply Chain Intern, you will work with other motivated interns and members of the Category Management, Planning & Fulfillment, and local Plant teams to expand your knowledge, skills, and abilities related to Supply Chain.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Manage and lead a sourcing project with guidance from a Category Manager.
    • Understand supplier cost structure and develop competitive benchmark.
    • Manage and lead qualification activities toward introducing new source of supply.
    • Manage and resolve critical supplier shortcomings.
    • Actively promote component standardization.
    • Apply and implement Hitachi Energy SCM standards, tools, and processes.
    • Business travel - 1-3 possible trips over the summer internship period.
    • Living Hitachi Energy's core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

    Your Background:

    • Rising junior or senior obtaining their bachelor's degree in related field OR master's student.
    • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
    • Participation in school or extracurricular activities and experience in leadership roles.
    • Demonstrated project management skills for multi-discipline projects.
    • Good communication skills both oral and written.
    • Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
    • Multilingual is a plus.
    • Currently enrolled in an accredited university program in the US.
    • Must be currently authorized to work for Hitachi Energy in the US.
