The anticipated salary range for this role is between $86,000.00and $143,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

SUMMARY:

As Business Analyst (BA), you will support the Program Management Office in overall program management activities. The BA is expected to drive business meetings, identifying business challenges, desired capabilities/outcomes, and requirements. The BA will apply critical thinking to determine process impacts and business benefits. The candidate must be comfortable working with a diverse population, technically proficient, able to multi-task well, explain solutions clearly, well organized, and can work autonomously.

You will coordinate program activities, ensure consistent structures inside the program and its work streams, and manage the creation of professional presentations. You will track status reporting and manage documentation as well as organization of meetings. You will be working closely with the internal and external partners, ensuring collaboration across the team. The role will interact with the global project team via teleconference and/or video conference. The ideal candidate will be able to manage complexities and interdependencies with the ability to identify, describe and communicate these in a succinct way.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Identify and document gaps in procedures and create solutions for scalable and repeatable processes.
  • Protects scope, identifies, and mitigates risk ensuring success of critical and complex technology projects.
  • Comfortable in an environment of ambiguity and rapid change which will require prioritizing competing tasks and conflict resolution.
  • Track project milestones, report and update progress and performance against the project plan.
  • Support resource and capacity planning, in close alignment with the leads and team.
  • Responsible for professional project management office support.
  • Ensure delivery of regular status reporting provided by work package leads.
  • Manage documentation structures on Microsoft Teams.
  • Organize and facilitate professional meetings and workshops, its documentation, and minutes.
  • Ensure qualitative onboarding and document provisioning.
  • Lead the roll-out and adoption of all PMO processes with all involved internal and external parties.
  • Support in reporting processes, efficient tracking of progress status of the work streams.
  • Support management team in the creation of high-quality presentations for C-Level.
  • Ensure smooth tool system access and documentation management processes and maintenance.
  • Support setup and maintenance of qualitative Project Controlling processes and ensure budget tracking.
  • Support stakeholder management with diverse external parties, connecting and engaging stakeholders.
  • Recognize and resolve operational issues and minimize delays in the delivery of program objectives.
  • Lead continuous PMO quality improvements by active exchange with team members.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS:
  • 4+ years of financial business analysis and systems analysis skills.
  • 3 + years' experience with FIS or other large financial core systems and third-party ancillaries
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Finance, Business, or IT.
  • 1+ years' experience in project and change management. Preferably in a Finance setting.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to write and communicate requirements to business and technology partners.
  • Ability to influence people outside the immediate span of control, including business users, other IT staff and vendors.
  • High proficiency with excel and testing software (AML/JIRA).
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
  • Experience in project management methodologies (e.g., PMI, SCRUM, SAP Activate, SAFe) & tools.
  • Experience in Business Process Optimization or transformation.
  • Experience in change and stakeholder management.
  • Strong willingness to approach projects with a can-do attitude and create standards, where no exist.
  • Comfortable in a fast-moving, fluid, international environment.
  • Analytical skills and capacity for conceptual thinking, able to think and act with a cross-organizational and cross-process approach.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
  • Nominal travel (<10%) may be required.
