The anticipated salary range for this role is between $137,000.00and $150,000.00. The specific salary offered to an applicant will be based on their individual qualifications, experiences, and an analysis of the current compensation paid in their geography and the market for similar roles at the time of hire. The role may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive award. In addition to cash compensation, SMBC offers a competitive portfolio of benefits to its employees.

Role Description

The VP position in the GTFD Latam corporate team will be responsible for supporting Senior Sales and Origination Team on business origination, deal structuring and negotiation of documentation, working capital and free cash flow analysis, working together with Corporate Finance for credit and all other internal approval committees process and provide advise on resource maximization efforts that may include distribution tactics.

Role Objectives: Delivery
  • Support the origination of new business opportunities;
  • Perform working capital and free cash flow analysis, benchmark against client peers and comparables;
  • Prepare and deliver client pitch materials (presentations and/or written proposals);
  • Support the structuring of working capital solutions for clients;
  • Provide judgement on credit worthiness / risk mitigation tactics for proposed working capital solutions for clients;
  • Work together with Corporate Finance for credit and all other internal approval committees process;
  • Manage document review in coordination with in-house legal counsel or external counsel.
  • Oversee the KYC / AML procedures for the team's customers;
  • Maintain and develop good communication channels with all internal business partners
Qualifications and Skills
  • 7+ years of experience in trade finance or corporate finance;
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience in the market for cross border trade finance either within a Financial Institution or a company that acted as client of Trade Finance;
  • Bachelor degree in Business, Economics or related field, Master's degree is preferred
  • Fluent in Spanish and English, desirable Portuguese
  • Ability to deliver results under pressure and tight timeframes;
  • Ability to travel;
  • Goal driven individual;
  • Ability to work within a diverse team; and
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
