Position at Old Republic Risk Management Old Republic Risk Management (ORRM)is currently seeking an Assistant Vice President (AVP) - Account Executiveresponsible for our Midwest Regionbased out of Chicago, IL. In general, the AVP - Account Executive is a critical role in the organization responsible for marketing and underwriting complex casualty insurance for large corporations. This position reports directly to the President and possesses a significant amount of autonomy and decision-making authority. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of ten years of related experience in casualty underwriting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. In addition, this position requires one to continuously hold a valid driver's license and a motor vehicle operator's record that is considered satisfactory as defined by company and/or corporate procedures. Working as an AVP - Account Executive requires frequent travel by use of motor vehicles, public transportation, and/or airplanes; a typical week consists of approximately 50% of travel, including local travel. In addition, an AVP - Account Executive must be able to work independently and effectively within a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is necessary. This position also requires proficiency in the use of computer systems. Other skills necessary include excellent oral and written communication skills, accurate proofreading skills, the ability to maintain accurate records, the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn and ask questions, and the ability to use a variety of office equipment. PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: This position requires one to sit for extended periods and stand and/or walk occasionally. The position requires one to occasionally push, pull, carry, and/or lift to 10 pounds. No personal protective equipment is required. Ergonomic equipment is available to employees.
