We invite you to learn more about our wonderful community: There's something about Salem, Oregon!Vascular Surgery Clinic Overview Located on the Salem Hospital campus in the heart of downtown Salem, Oregon, the SHMG Vascular Surgery Clinic is a fast-paced, fun work environment with a culture of respect and inclusivity. The clinic serves patients throughout the Willamette Valley and surrounding areas, providing high quality surgical care to the community. The team dynamic in this clinic offers a very collaborative work environment between staff and providers as they treat patients with both acute and chronic diagnoses. Medical Assistants in this clinic play a vital role in pre-op education, care coordination, and inpatient follow up. Your Role With Us: Certified Medical Assistant- Vascular Surgery Clinic Primary Functions of this role:1. Assesses patients and obtains brief history. Alerts physicians to potential life-threatening situations. Recognizes critical diagnostic data and alerts the physician in a timely fashion. Recognizes changes in patient condition and reports appropriately. 2. Assesses and documents patient's vital signs and other pertinent information upon admission. Reassesses patient's condition following therapeutic intervention. 3. Coordinates the execution of all physician orders. Determines priorities of care and intervenes in those cases falling outside the parameters of normal clinic protocol3. Communicates with co-workers to facilitate continuity of care and maintenance of steady patient progress through the department. 4. Ensures adequate discharge instructions are given to each patient, that family members are included in discharge instructions if available, that patients are referred for future care appropriately, and the community resource information is available to patients. 5. Performs waived laboratory testing procedures according to protocols; demonstrates continued competency in patient testing, quality control and proficiency testing.6. Accurately documents patient visits, telephone calls, refill requests and other encounters in Epic Ambulatory, ensuring others are able to follow events with certainty. 7. Demonstrates adequate knowledge of and dedication to adhering to organizational, departmental and regulatory compliance standards.
