The Behavioral Health Intake Specialist facilitates the admission process, provides information and referrals and makes appointments for the treatment of psychiatric related problems. This position is also responsible for intake and linkage of RWJBarnabas Health Care System employees and their dependents to RWJBarnabas Behavioral Health Network EAP Affiliates/Provider Network, as well as for external EAP accounts(total membership approx 150k). The Behavioral Health Intake Specialist is responsible for all associated data inquiry, data entry and record-keeping. All methods of practice shall conform to written hospital policies and procedures and be carried out to the highest achievable level of competence in a manner demonstrating concern and consideration. The Behavioral Health Intake Specialist will demonstrate the RWJBarnabas philosophy to Total Quality Management by actively applying that philosophy in all dealings with both internal and external customers.

Requirements

*Bachelor s degree in psychology or related human services field required.
*Minimum two years crisis intervention experience required.
*Strong interpersonal/telephone communication and organizational skills required.
*Knowledge and proficiency of word processing, computer data input and/or mainframe preferred.
