OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Shelter Director, The Deputy Director will be responsible for assisting the Director in budgeting, planning and the full implementation and operation of the shelter program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Responsible for overall functioning of the shelter
  • Establish operational and safety protocols of the shelter site
  • Supervisor of all Berberian shelter staff
  • Assist in monitoring budget, reporting, grant preparation and grant reporting for Shelter focused grants
  • Provide reports, statistics and written documentation as required by funding sources, grants and government agencies
  • Lead periodic Staff meetings
  • Provide and support employee disciplinary measures with Shelter Director and Corps Officers
  • Other related duties as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • BA/BS degree in social services, business or related field from an accredited college with 1 year of full-time experience serving in the public sector (Required)
  • AA/AS degree in social services, business or related field from an accredited college with 3 years of full-time experience serving in the public sector (Required)
  • High School Diploma and some college credits in social services, business or related field with 5 years of full-time experience serving in the public sector (Required)
  • One-year staff supervision experience (Required)
  • 21 years old (Required)
  • Professional licensure in HMIS Intake and reporting or willing to obtain
  • Experienced in mental health, substance use and trauma


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Detail Oriented
  • Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task simultaneous projects
  • Ability to work with a diverse shelter population and diverse groups of people within the community


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Modern Office Equipment and Relevant Software

Experience
5 years: High School Diploma and some college credits in social services, business or related field with 5 years of full-time experience serving in the public sector (Required) (required)
3 years: AA/AS degree in social services, business or related field from an accredited college with 3 years of full-time experience serving in the public sector (Required) (required)
1 years: BA/BS degree in social services, business or related field from an accredited college with 1 year of full-time experience serving in the public sector (required)
