Description

OVERVIEW:

Under the supervision of the Shelter Director, the Program Coordinator will coordinate and supervise intake of shelter guests, HMIS data entry, VI-SPDAT data entry, reporting to government agencies, coordinate services with partner agencies, supervise day program services by floor staff, and supervise classes for program participants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Data entry of clients' information into HMIS and VI-SPIDAT accurately and timely.
  • Resource specialist with knowledge of resources and the ability to refer guests to specific, appropriate services
  • Establish, coordinate, and assist partner agencies' presence for program participants for services
  • Ability to complete reports, collect data, and assist in grant preparation for shelter programs to TSA and other agencies
  • Supervise classes to program participants
  • Coordinate and supervise floor staff to provide program services including meals, showers, and laundry


  • Other related duties as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Experience in HMIS data entry and VI-SPDAT completion
  • Experience supervising staff (Required)
  • Education in social services/substance abuse (Preferred)
  • Experience with disadvantaged populations (Required)
  • Trained or received training on informal mental health/ substance abuse evaluation


SKILLS AND ABILITIES:



  • Ability to coordinate and manage multiple duties
  • Ability to prioritize work and multi-task simultaneous projects
  • Possess maturity and confidentially
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately
  • Bilingual in Spanish (Preferred)


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
