Position Purpose:
Responsible for performing switchboard operations by screening, taking messages, and/or directing callers to appropriate individuals. Perform a variety of other clerical functions to include opening, sorting, and distributing mail to various departments as well as preparing all outgoing mail, light typing, filing, copying, etc.

Primary Duties/responsibilities:

  • Answer incoming phone calls and direct the party to the appropriate individual.
  • Perform a variety of light typing of formatted letters, memos, documents, etc.
  • Open, sort, and distribute mail to appropriate departments within the facility.
  • Prepare special packages for overnight delivery.
  • Maintain a variety of filing systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education / Experience / Background:

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required
  • Associate's degree with an emphasis in secretarial skills preferred
  • Prior work experience of 6 months to 1 year in a clerical capacity preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer orientation
