The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Marketing Specialist coordinates the creative development and production processes of marketing plans supporting either WWP Program events and initiatives directed to warriors and their families, or the WWP Resource Development team to align fundraising goals and marketing activities to drive awareness, affinity, and engagement among WWP supporters, donors, and corporate partners.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Marketing and Communications team members, and either Resource Development or Program team members, to plan, develop, and implement innovative marketing plans.
  • Lead the creative development, design, and production processes for marketing projects or for marketing collateral, e.g., promotional material, advertising (print and online) collateral, and digital marketing (email and social).
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of marketing strategies and activities, and prepare reports for leadership.
  • Research and identify market trends to optimize results and implement data-driven marketing strategies.
  • Serve as marketing subject matter expert and brand ambassador, ensuring consistency in all marketing materials, e.g., consistent and approved voice and messaging frameworks, visual assets, and key terminology.
  • Manage relationships and establish rapport with internal and external stakeholders, and oversee the work of external vendors.
  • Develop and manage timelines to produce marketing materials, e.g., brochures, directories, and other collateral.
  • Provide general marketing assistance for special events, campaigns, and other initiatives. Support, attend, and participate in WWP programs and community-based activities as required.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrated understanding of developing and implementing successful marketing campaigns.

  • Strong project management skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to interact with diverse team members and build effective working relationships with team members, and work in a collaborative, team environment.
  • High energy level. Self- starter; willing to take initiative. Goal-oriented, detail-oriented, and results-oriented.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize critical thinking skills and analytical skills in problem solving.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

EXPERIENCE

Requirements

  • Four years of marketing experience.

Preferences

  • One year of nonprofit fundraising experience
  • One year of experience using project management software.
  • Portfolio of past, successful marketing campaigns.

EDUCATION

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in advertising, communications, marketing, or business. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • General office environment; temperature controlled.
  • Up to 10% travel
  • Routinely uses standard office equipment, e.g., copiers, phones, computers, filing cabinets
  • Sitting for extended periods
