What you will be doing

The Sr. Director of Sales for ION GPO reports to the Vice President, National Field Sales and works closely with sales directors, marketing leadership and the group purchasing organization in order to support the overall sales, marketing, IV/oral oncolytic strategies, and overall profitability objectives.

  • Manages business relationships and the oversight of all consultations with customers to create profitable business strategies taking into account such factors as customer's vision and goals, current results by category/program and compliance with AB programs and services.

  • Under the direction of VP Sales, will lead a team of strategic account managers and pharmacy account directors.

  • Develops and implements strategic sales and marketing plans to accommodate national and regional business goals

  • Leads and directs Clinical Practice Consultants on any escalated customer relationship issues.

  • Defines the strategic objectives of the sales and Clinical Practice Consulting teams along with VP of Sales and Corporate Services.

  • Responsible for collaborating to develop the oral drug strategy.

  • Gathers information, analyzes and develops strategies concerning dynamics that may affect the business relationship, such as changes in customer ownership or new affiliations, current market share and targets of opportunities for new growth, customers' changing requirements, competitor strengths and weaknesses, and continually communicates these strategies internally using verbal discussion and written business plans.

  • Provides feedback, industry knowledge and specific recommendations to Corporate on programs, policies, products and prices.

  • Maintains strong customer relationships; seeks new and increased business opportunities.

  • Regularly, monitors and analyzes reports and data which are used consistently throughout ION for measuring profitability growth of sales; develops and implements strategies to insure continued success of that growth.

  • Gathers information, analyzes and develops marketing strategies addressing dynamics that may affect area of responsibility using solution selling techniques.

  • Contributes to the development and implementation of the Division's positioning and branding initiative.

  • Works closely with marketing & Sales leadership in analyzing marketplace and formulating department and divisional strategies.

  • Works closely with all regional sales directors and corporate account directors to implement key marketing initiatives and partnerships.

  • Partners with marketing on implementing marketing programs and solutions, both short and long range, to ensure the profitable growth and expansion of company offerings.

  • Partners with other divisions or Business Units to design and implement sales support initiatives that drive profitable sales growth. Leadership of ION/IPN/INN GPO sales director and Pharmacy team.

  • Works closely with Business & Sales Operations for the purpose of supporting the development and implementation of strategic plans to achieve corporate goals.

  • Keeps abreast of external marketing trends and competitor activity; builds rapport with industry professionals and customers in order to determine present and future marketing conditions and needs of the organization.

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

  • Must be willing to work extended hours, as needed, in order to meet sales objectives; must be willing to travel extensively, up to 50%.

What your background should look like

Requires broad training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year bachelor's degree program or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires more than five (5) years of sales and account management leadership experience

  • Oncology sales experience required.

  • Experience in a practice management setting strongly desired.

  • High degree of technical knowledge of principles in sales/people management

  • Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail; process driven

  • Excellent conceptual and strategic thinking abilities

  • Experience managing mid-sized teams with multiple disciplines.

  • Excellent project management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously

  • Ability to interpret industry trends and competitive information and develop strategies and tactics to respond to changes in the marketplace

  • Demonstrated history of operating as a business manager

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong knowledge of computers necessary to operate effectively with company systems and programs

  • Excellent presentation skills

$145,200 - 223,850

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
