Maintenance Technician II

POSITION SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, perform varied mechanic repairs and maintenance of machinery and equipment, as well as to perform building maintenance, which may include cutting/welding, plumbing, heating, carpentry, etc.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems and production machines* Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, by listening for problems and/or by using precision measuring and testing instruments* Removing old equipment and installation of new* Answering questions and requests regarding mechanical maintenance* Maintaining accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules, as well as knowledge of general and preventative maintenance procedures* Performing weekly safety checks to ensure a safe and clean

environment and eliminate all hazards* Understanding proper LOTO procedures* Strong rigging background with safety background* Overhead crane inspections and repairs* Maintenance welding* Specifying parts needed for proper repairs

  • Working knowledge of Low Voltage, 120V, 220 single phase and 230V, 480V Three Phase
  • VFD and PLC experience preferred* Ability to read and interpret blueprints for trouble shooting, repairs, and process and safety improvements* Ability to diagnose mechanical issues and determine the appropriate measures to correct them* Time management skills and the ability to work well in a team setting* Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical labor, including walking, climbing, standing, sitting, and lifting
  • Strong working knowledge in Pneumatics and Hydraulics (Troubleshooting)
  • PAY RANGE: $25.00/hr to $35.00/hr

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to read and write clearly.
  • Good math skills.
  • Good judgment abilities to seek problem resolution.
  • Minimum of three years industrial maintenance experience with exposure to plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and machine and equipment repairs required.
  • Must be available for weekend and holiday call-ins or for scheduled maintenance service work as needed.MANAGEMENT/SUPERVISON:
  • Ensure company policies are followed.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a minimum of 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
