This is a full-time role that offers a hybrid work schedule. You'll typically work in-office at our Melville headquarters Monday and Wednesday and at home the remainder of the week. Note that work schedules and office reporting requirements may change from time to time based on business needs Your QualificationsTo be a strong fit for the role of Instructional Designer, you will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • 3 to 5 years of curriculum development, instructional design, or similar related experience
  • Corporate Curriculum; Corporate Learning; and/or Corporate Training experience within a corporate setting required
  • Experience using the ADDIE Instructional Design Model
  • Strong computer skills and experience required including MS Office; Adobe Captivate or Articulate are preferred but not required
  • Technical savvy to learn and deeply understand Canon equipment
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel via car and plane to training locations up to 25% of the time

The JobReporting to Senior Manager, Curriculum Development for the Sales Training Division, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, developing and implementing web-based and instructor-led training for our sales force. Our mission is to help sales representatives increase their effectiveness in selling Canon products and solutions through the curriculum we develop.

As part of the Sales Training team, you will develop synchronous and asynchronous training to be delivered virtually, in the classroom, as a hybrid of both, or in a self-taught, web-ex format. You will be responsible for creating instructor and student guides, training the instructor, traveling to our training centers to observe early, in-person training sessions and modifying content as needed. Post-training, you will review surveys and other data to analyze the effectiveness of the training and determine if additional changes are needed.
