Fund Manager (Flex-Hybrid)

Description The Department of Medicine is looking for a motivated candidate toact as a Fund Manager and perform post-award and other financial management and analysis for the Clinical AIDS Research and Education (CARE) Center. In this role, you will prepare financial reports, monthly statements and projections, and provide financial analysis and long-range planning for all research grants, clinical trials, and other contracts. You will oversee operations of post-award activation and administration, effectively and accurately managing multiple complex accounts from Federal, County, State and private agencies, as well asgift and Policy 913 accounts. You will be detail-oriented and provide proactive management to maintain accurate financial functioning and avoid overdrafts onDivision controlled funds. You will develop budgets and perform all pre-award grant submission processes for faculty at CARE. You will manage the preparation of grant proposals and budgets for a wide variety of contracts, grants, and clinical trials. You will also contact funding agencies to clarify and bring to complete resolution any issues, questions or concerns of Research Faculty, in addition to coordinating research activities, agency reports, and special requests on behalf of Research Faculty.
Target hourly rate: $28.20 - $60.57
Qualifications Required:
* 1-3 years of Financial, clerical or administrative experience
* Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate information in a timely, professional manner and establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with students, staff, faculty, external collaborators, and administration and to work as a member of a team.
* Ability to set priorities and complete ongoing tasks with competing deadlines, with frequent
* interruptions, to meet the programmatic and financial needs of PIs and the department, while complying with university and funding agency policies and regulations.
* Analytical skills to assess financial information, define problems, formulate logical solutions, develop alternative solutions, make recommendations, and initiate corrective actions
* Close attention to detail to ensure accuracy in a fast-paced, fluctuating workload environment
* Organization skills to create and maintain administrative and financial files effectively as well as independently balance the various tasks to ensure deadlines are met
* Demonstrated proficiency with Adobe and Microsoft suite software, especially Excel, to perform daily tasks efficiently and accurately
Preferred:
* Bachelor's Degree in Finance/administration or experience equivalent
* 1-2 years of Research Administration experience
