Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager will be responsible for the planning and organizing of the overall operation of the Environmental Services department. Executes company and facility environmental services programs and procedures by developing/managing/administering training and motivating the environmental services personnel to ensure all tasks are completed and schedules are met. Will develop and manage work schedules (duty lists) for all assigned areas to ensure optimal efficiency and adherence to quality standards. Must maintain good public relations with all patients, residents and staff personnel. Participate in client activities and special events. Assist with inventory expenditures and ensure cost effectiveness. Ensure that the cleaning and linen staff maintains a high standard of personal appearance. Observe cleaning and maintenance needs throughout hospital and submit written project requests. Interview candidates for vacancies in the department. Counsel employees and manage terminations when necessary.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. 3 years previous management experience preferred.
  2. Minimum three years healthcare housekeeping experience required.
  3. Full knowledge of pertinent regulatory agencies and the policies, codes, standards, and regulations that applies to the clinical equipment in their area.
  4. Must have detailed organization and prioritizing skills with the ability to train; teach, show and follow-up on all assignments, when necessary.
  5. Will be skilled in directing and motivating the staff; have knowledge of infection control techniques.
  6. Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.

EDUCATION / LICENSURE:

  1. Associates Degree preferred, High school diploma or GED required. 3 years previous management experience preferred. Equivalent work experience considered in lieu of degree.
