Position Summary:
NJIT
is in the middle of an ambitious Digital Transformation that will bring
digital to the core of all we do. As the architects of this Digital
Transformation, the Information Services and Technology (IST) division is
looking for a Integration Architect that will focus on business process
and integration automation, particularly leveraging the ServiceNow and
Workato platforms. Recently beginning implementation of ServiceNow across our
enterprise, we are looking for an individual with a relentless focus on user
experience who can use their technical expertise to help NJIT simplify,
optimize, and automate processes that enable quality experiences for our
students, employees, alumni, and community at-large. Working closely with the
ServiceNow Product Management Team as well as other teams in the IST
organization, this individual will lead the design and implementation of
integration and automation solutions that support our campus partners to
improve processes. They will be responsible for the overall design of the
ServiceNow platform architecture and by defining best practices, will ensure
that delivery from contributing development teams meets architecture
standards. The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, a tech
entrepreneur at heart, and provide innovative and forward-thinking ideas to
foster automation at NJIT.
Essential Functions:
- Perform ServiceNow implementation
tasks including but not limited to configuration, integration, orchestration,
and custom application development.
- Translate business requirements
into technical solutions, ensuring that solutions delivered have an excellent
user experience, are secure and scalable, comply with best practices and open
standards.
- Understanding NJIT's
data model and complex enterprise environment, architect and implement
ServiceNow automations and integrations based on identified business
requirements.
- Develop automation proof of
concepts and pilots to help drive business efficiency.
- Collaborating with other teams
within IST and NJIT at-large, implement strategic automation solutions.
- Serve as a key member of the
ServiceNow Product Management Team.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's
degree in Information Systems, Project Management, Computer Science, Business
Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ServiceNow experience
across the platform including integrations with leading PaaS platforms such
as Workato, Boomi or Informatica.
- Advanced knowledge of ServiceNow
back-end functionality and operations, including user administration,
application scoping, and system table structure / platform architecture.
- Technical skills: JSON/JavaScript,
Angular, Jelly, REST-based web services, SOAP, Hub Spokes.
- Solid understanding of project
management and system development lifecycle processes.
- Relentless obsession for customer
and user experience excellence.
- Demonstrated ability to work with
cross-functional teams.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience
prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the
satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and
experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ServiceNow System Administrator
Certification and completion of any combination of Scripting Fundamentals,
Application Development Fundamentals, or Service Portal training.
- Experience with Workato.
- Familiarity with core AI/ML
techniques and algorithms.
- Knowledge of Test Automation
frameworks.
- ITIL v3/4 Certification
- Design Thinking experience.
