***THIS IS A FACULTY POSITION*** The UMD Department of Social Work seeks to add to its pool of instructors available to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels such as Global Issues; Individual, Family & Group Practice; Introduction to Social Work Research; American Indian SW Practice; Advanced Practice in Mental Health; Field; Grant Writing, child welfare courses; and others. Part-time positions for the 2023-2024 academic year are available. Fall Term is August 21st, 2023 to January 3rd, 2024. Spring Term is January 4th to May 19th, 2024. Candidates will be considered for the rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, determined by qualifications. A master's degree is required for the rank of Instructor (9404), and a doctorate is required for the rank of Assistant Professor (9403). Job duties and responsibilities include teaching courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Qualifications

The Department of Social Work is one of five departments in the College of Education and Human Service Professions. Meeting the needs of American Indian and rural communities has been central to the department since its inception. The BSW and MSW curricula emphasize social justice and culturally responsive practice. The MSW program follows an advanced generalist model with opportunities for clinical and macro practice. The Department of Social Work houses the Center for Regional and Tribal Child Welfare Studies, a national leader in improving American Indian child welfare practice.
