Strategy & Evaluation Intern

The Ad Council
United States
March 15, 2024

Who we are:

The Ad Council convenes creative storytellers to educate, unite and uplift audiences by opening hearts, inspiring action and accelerating change around the most pressing issues in America. Since the non-profit's founding, the organization and its partners in advertising, media, marketing and tech have been behind some of the country's most iconic social impact campaigns - Smokey Bear, A Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Waste, Love Has No Labels, Tear the Paper Ceiling and many more. With a current focus on mental health, gun violence prevention, the opioid epidemic, skill-based hiring and other critical issues, the Ad Council's national campaigns encompass advertising and media content, ground game and community efforts, trusted messenger and influencer engagement, and employer programs, among other innovative strategies to move the needle on the most important issues of the day.

The Raquel Zarin Internship Program

Our internship program is in honor of Raquel Zarin, a beloved employee, mentor, and friend at the Ad Council. Raquel passed away in 2021 but left behind a legacy of grace, courage, hard work and great fun that we strive to emulate. She nurtured young talent, championed DEI, fought for immigration rights and was passionate about the importance of health equity. These are all principles that we hold in high esteem, and values that we want our future interns to establish during their time with us and beyond.

The Raquel Zarin Internship Program is a remote-first engagement and will run from June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024. All interns will be paid $18/hour and are eligible to earn overtime.

  • Review and summarize external research studies and/or mine syndicated datasets to which we have access; the main focus is currently TBD but could include social/health issue studies, marketing and media trends, research methodologies, or social marketing effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with Ad Council interns to identify a pressing social or health issue and propose the design of an Ad Council campaign to address this issue. The intern team will work through the end of the summer program to research, develop and present a campaign proposal to the Ad Council staff.
