The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation's naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy's submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is seeking a Facility Superintendent to join our Inactive Facilities Engineering team. Inactive Facilities Engineering is developing innovative and modern approaches to maintaining legacy facilities to drive liability reduction and remediation in a safe and efficient manner. Our facility superintendents have full responsibility for support of our facilities to ensure required maintenance and remediation work is performed. As such, the successful candidate will be responsible for conducting frequent inspections of legacy facilities on our site to identify and prioritize work and coordinate with crafts organizations responsible for performance of that work. Facility superintendents also develop and maintain legacy facility management plans to prepare the facility for final demolition and are responsible for keeping up-to-date and accurate records for each of their facilities.
