The Naval Nuclear Laboratory comprises the U.S. Department of Energy locations and personnel responsible for developing advanced naval nuclear propulsion technology, providing technical support to ensure the safety and reliability of our nation's naval nuclear reactors, and training the Sailors who operate those reactors in the U.S. Navy's submarines and aircraft carrier Fleets. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory includes the Bettis and Knolls Atomic Power Laboratories, the Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and the Naval Reactors Facility which have proudly supported the nation since 1946. The Naval Nuclear Laboratory has nearly 8,000 employees working at primary locations in Pennsylvania, New York, South Carolina, and Idaho. Job Description

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory (NNL) is seeking a highly motivated Software Programmer/Developer to join the Kesselring Site Directorate team. We develop, manage, and support a wide variety of applications that support the Site's mission. The successful candidate will join a team of programmers leading the Site's transition to a new operating environment, migrating existing SharePoint and Access applications, creating new applications in the Power Platform suite, and enabling teleworking and the use of mobile applications.

The successful candidate will interact with customers to determine new application requirements and recommend sustainable solutions, create and maintain relevant support and user documentation, take ownership of issues by carrying out problem analysis to implement permanent solutions, and interface across a broad range of organizations internal and external to the Directorate.

Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Desired technical skills: Experience with web design and development, application development, troubleshooting, and problem resolution. The successful candidate will train on Microsoft Power Platform (Apps, Automate, BI), Microsoft Access, and relational database design and concepts. Experience with any of the following is beneficial but not required: Structured Query Language (SQL), VBA, SharePoint web design, SharePoint Client Side development (JSOM/ReST), JavaScript, and PowerShell.
