Accounting Analyst

Old Republic Risk Management (ORRM) is currently seeking an Accounting Analyst to join its Accounting Team at its company headquarters in Brookfield, WI. ORRM provides primary casualty insurance products to corporate and group insureds with complex risks. In general, the Accounting Analyst prepares financial statements, provides analytics pertaining to the budget process and various financial reports and assists with client financial reviews. This position is responsible for several financially significant job duties.

Essential duties for the role are as follows:

• Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules adhering to internal and external reporting time tables. Research and provide analytics for deviations
• Prepare and assist with client financial analysis reviews
• Maintain, compile, analyze, and research deviations for the quarterly and annual Budget Process with an in-depth understanding of company processes
• Maintain, compile, reconcile, research, analyze, and recommend deviation solutions for various spreadsheet files, reports or analytical assessments, including but not limited to PT&A, Security, and compliance reporting to home office
• Compile and assist with audit requests as pertains to Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Initiate wire disbursements and maintain bank repetitive codes. Approve when instructed.
• Assist in developing and maintaining various accounting reports extracted from the ledger system utilizing SQL and Crystal.
• Input and review Net Premium data to the internal database system.

Working as an Accounting Analyst requires one to work independently and effectively within a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft (MS) Windows and Office products is necessary. Other skills necessary include excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational and accurate proofreading skills, the ability to maintain accurate records, the ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, strong attention to detail, and the ability to use a variety of office equipment.
