Digital Strategy Manager

MedThink is a full-service healthcare communications agency with a growing digital team supporting a wide variety of digital projects for our pharmaceutical clients. We are looking for a talented and experienced Digital Strategy Manager to join our growing team. The Digital Strategy Manager will work on ongoing management of several social media initiatives for medical affairs clients, as well as search engine optimization for client websites, social listening opportunities, collaborating with our designers on user experience (UX) strategy, and CRM and email programs. This position reports to the VP, Digital Strategy and will require seasoned expertise in the area of social media best practices.

The ideal candidate will be open to working on a variety of different projects targeted at helping support client initiatives via digital solutions, maintaining and improving existing processes and project types, and driving innovation. You'll play a meaningful role in crafting how our company approaches digital strategy, as well as mentoring a growing digital team.

Additional responsibilities include educating and consulting clients from an organizational, technical, and programmatic digital best practices perspective. This position will also work closely with MedThink decision makers, department heads, and other stakeholders to ensure internal projects and initiatives are completed up to digital standards & best practices.

A successful Digital Strategy Manager should be able to identify key channels, audiences, and outcomes for various digital marketing initiatives, be able to identify cross-channel dependencies, and prioritize initiatives, as well as create and lead an actionable plan. The ideal candidate should also have a successful track record for delivery & completion of projects that are the direct result of created digital strategies. Healthcare/Pharma experience is extremely helpful.

Position Requirements

  • Develop, implement and manage social media campaigns and community strategies across all relevant channels with a goal to grow followers and audience engagement
  • Coordinate ideation, planning, and execution of strategic projects and campaigns
  • Work closely with the account services and scientific services teams to solve immediate problems and capitalize on opportunities to improve the social community
  • Stay informed on industry trends and the social landscape, applying learnings to client's business
  • Manage the Editorial Calendar, creating and publishing social media content across all client social platforms
  • Maintain a pulse on all key platform changes, sharing implications and needed actions with clients
  • Initiate and manage continuous and event-driven social listening campaigns covering a variety of objectives
  • Pulling analytics and organizing results and metrics on a regular cadence for overall reporting as well as micro-campaign specific results
  • Collaborate internally with teams (Medical Writers, Presentation Services, etc.) to manage content needs
  • Bridge the communication gap between technology and marketing both internally and with clients
  • Partner closely with clients and internal teams (Account, Creative, Development, Analytics, etc) to lead strategic thinking and develop holistic digital marketing initiatives
  • Work with & lead discussions with Creative & Development teams to ensure UX & UI best practices are met for all digital projects
  • Partner with Creative teams to provide trends, develop ideas, and maximize the use of technology to bring the ideas to life
  • Work with account team members to maintain the highest level of customer service and satisfaction, including presenting to clients as needed
  • Assist in improving overall digital process & workflow, including estimating scope and staffing, engaging various roles and responsibilities throughout project lifecycle, deliverables, and working with internal and/or external execution teams responsible for technology & development
  • Ensure internal & client facing digital initiatives are executed with digital best practices in mind, and offer data and/or clear reasoning to help guide decision making for such projects
  • Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations as necessary (Ex: Google AdWords Certification, Pharma Advertising & Compliance Training Certification, etc)

Talent & Knack

The candidate should possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or related field
  • 5-8 years digital consulting, creative and/or strategy experience (Healthcare/Pharma preferred)
  • 3-5 years social media strategy experience
  • Strategic/big picture thinker
  • Exceptional writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to successfully work with and guide senior-level clients and internal Agency teams
  • Experience with SEO and tools such as Moz, SEMRush, Screaming Frog, etc
  • Experience with email marketing and tests, as well as tools such as Email on Acid/Litmus
  • Strong working knowledge of web development
  • Strong familiarity and understanding of emerging digital trends and technologies
  • Strong passion for and knowledge of technology, emerging media and the Internet - including social media, SEO, CRM, and other digital marketing tactics
  • Strong leadership, management and analytical skills
  • Digital agency experience a plus
