Postdoctoral Research Scholar

Salary: $63,480 to commensurate

Position Description: We are currently seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research scholar to join the Movement, Imaging, and Rehabilitation Laboratory under the direction of Ruth Chimenti, PT, PhD, in the Department of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Science at the University of Iowa. The applicant will participate in ongoing research related to Achilles tendinopathy and plantar heel pain. The candidate will contribute to the successful completion of ongoing clinical trials with musculoskeletal imaging outcomes. We are seeking candidates who are highly motivated, mature, and possess excellent interpersonal and writing skills. The University of Iowa provides a unique collaborative research environment.

Education Requirement: PhD in bioengineering, health and human physiology, or related field.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in bioengineering and human movement assessment
• Experience using ultrasound imaging at the foot and ankle
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated publication track record
• Experience presenting at national meetings
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Willingness to take on leadership and supervisory roles

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience conducting clinical studies in patients with Achilles tendinopathy
• Commitment to developing new skills
