Position Title: Compounding Operator Position Location: Hopkinton, MA Position Schedule & Shift: Monday - Friday, 1st Shift (6:30pm - 3:00pm) Compensation: $24.00 - $29.00/hour (Compensation depends on skills, knowledge, education, and experience) Build Skills. About the role: As a Compounding Operator you will operate mixing equipment to produce a variety of elastomer rubber and silicone compounds while maintaining high safety and quality standards. This position involves weighing raw materials, mixing batches according to precise formulas, and forming materials into strips. You will be responsible for identifying materials, completing required documentation, and performing basic equipment checks and preventive maintenance. To be successful, you will need strong attention to detail, the ability to follow established processes, and effective teamwork and communication skills. A day in the life: Maintain a safe and clean work environment by following safety procedures Sample raw materials and produce test batches as needed Identify and use proper lot-controlled materials, understand equipment operation and process Operate department database tolls for lot-specific formulas and batch identification Weigh raw rubber, silicone, and various chemical following the recipes Mix elastomers using a mill, internal mixer, dough mixer, or planetary mixer following the recipes Form elastomers into sheets and strips as needed Provide elastomer samples and paperwork to M&P Lab Maintain all necessary documentation, such as inspection checks on produced batches or equipment, labor cards, and change notices Check equipment using prescribed preventative maintenance procedures Maintain inventory in multiple locations with proper identification What you will need: High school diploma or equivalent, with 2-3 years of relevant experience preferred Ability to follow all safety procedures Capability of working from routings and operator instruction sheets Comfort performing repetitive tasks Good manual dexterity and ability to lift or move up to 50lbs Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions accurately Maintain and organized and clean work environment Willingness to take initiative Must be a U.S Citizen or Permanent Resident Benefits of joining our team: Health Insurance - multiple plan options Dental Insurance HSA & FSA options Vision Care 401(k) Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Company-paid Life & Disability Insurance Parental and Family Leave Employee Assistance Program Tuition reimbursement Career advancement opportunities Multiple shifts and flexible schedules Employee Referral Program Employee discount & recognition programs Credit Union access Opportunity to purchase company stock & receive free shares Benefits effective date of hire About Hutchinson Aerospace: Hutchinson Aerospace is an industry leader in the design and manufacturing of engineered solutions for the control of shock and vibration.
