Role Summary
Deltek is moving from a portfolio of individual products to an integrated, AI-first platform for project-based businesses. The Director, AI Platform Product Marketing owns the story of that platform. This person turns a complex architecture and a fast-moving AI roadmap into a clear, credible narrative that customers, analysts, partners, and Deltek's own teams can easily understand. This product marketing leader will own the platform narrative and AI positioning that connects them, working across every Deltek industry, not inside one, to create one Deltek story. Industry-aligned PMM leads own the buyer and products in each vertical and will work closely with this platform product marketer to ensure a cohesive story across the business, industries and products. What You'll Do
- Own and evolve Deltek's platform narrative: the vision, the problem it solves, how the platform fits together, and why it matters to project-based businesses
- Define AI positioning across the portfolio, including what Deltek says about AI, what it proves, and what it deliberately does not claim
- Translate technical architecture and roadmap decisions into messaging that executives, buyers, and practitioners can understand
- Build the core narrative assets: the platform story, executive messaging framework, point-of-view content, keynote and executive talk tracks, and proof points
- Equip industry PMM leads, sales, and customer-facing teams with messaging they can adapt to their vertical, and keep it consistent as new products and releases ship
- Partner with Product Management and Engineering to stay ahead of the roadmap, and with the GMs so the platform story strengthens each business unit's positioning
- Brief industry analysts and shape how they describe Deltek's platform and AI strategy, in coordination with Analyst Relations
- Work with Corporate Marketing on campaigns, events, and web so the platform story shows up consistently in market
- Gather customer and market evidence, including adoption, outcomes, and competitive perception, and use it to sharpen the narrative
- Establish how the narrative is governed: terminology, naming, claims, and the process for updating it as the platform evolves
What You'll Bring
- 10+ years in product marketing, strategic communications, or analyst-facing roles, with significant experience in enterprise software, ideally platform, data, or AI products
- A demonstrated record of building platform or category narratives that were adopted across a large organization
- Exceptional writing and storytelling, with examples that show you can make complex technology simple without making it shallow
- The credibility to work with engineers and architects, and the judgment to know which technical details belong in the story and which don't
- Experience presenting to executives, customers, and analysts, and shaping messaging for senior leaders
- Comfort with ambiguity and with influencing without authority across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and business unit leadership
- Strong command of the AI landscape, including how buyers evaluate AI claims, and sound judgment about credible versus inflated positioning
Preferred
- Experience with ERP, project-based, or vertical software, or with government contracting or professional services buyers
- Experience positioning a platform that integrates previously separate products
- Prior work with industry analysts such as IDC or similar firms
- Experience supporting executive keynotes or customer conference content
How Success Is Measured
- A single platform and AI narrative adopted across all industry PMM teams, sales, and executive communications
- Analyst and customer language that reflects Deltek's intended positioning
- Faster, more consistent launch messaging as new AI and platform capabilities ship
- Industry PMM leads and GMs who view the narrative as an asset they use, not a constraint
