Title: Senior Vehicle Ethernet Network Architect

Industry: Military Vehicles / Systems Engineering

Location: On-Site Sterling Heights, MI

Pay/Duration: 75.00 - 82.00 per hour based off experience

Key Skills: MBSE / Cameo / SysML / Ethernet / Schematics / Electrical Engineering / CAN Networks

Responsible for the development and management of advanced Ethernet network architectures on new and existing platform designs. Typical effort involves working with various software, cybersecurity, and data engineers to develop vehicle Ethernet network architectures that will meet customer and internal requirements to enable timely, accurate, safe, reliable, and secure communications on data-driven, software-centric military land vehicles. It also includes the documentation and management of these architectures in our Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) process, supported by an industry-standard toolset (typically Cameo). It requires the ability to understand complex systems, to manage and trade amongst widely-varied and often competing requirements from multiple sources and teams, to work with various hardware and software teams as well as outside vendors to coordinate expectations and requirements, gather design information, and ensure compliance to the reference architecture baselined.

Develop architecture view diagrams for the various networks on the platform in question developed through the use of industry evaluation and trade studies

Evaluate and iterate architecture to include additional data as more information matures

Accurately capture and review connectivity diagrams (typically SysML IBDs and BDDs at a system/subsystem level, electrical schematics at a component level) in various tools (MBSE and/or electrical design capture)

Identify, track, and manage interface attributes throughout the system model

Work with design engineering to advise and review lower-level designs for compliance to intended architecture and traceability to higher-level components

Serve as the point of contact for Ethernet-based architecture designs for multiple, possibly concurrent, programs

Requirements:

Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related engineering field.

Minimum of 10 years of engineering experience, fewer years will be considered with an advanced degree

Experience developing mixed-use Ethernet architectures that support both best effort and deterministic communications

Experience designing and implementing Ethernet networks in a vehicle product through delivery phase

Experience with the various Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) specifications, VLANs, use of Qos, Ethernet security (e.g. IEEE 802.1X, IEEE 802.1AE, etc.), multicasting streams of data, managed switch and router configuration, layer 2 and layer 3 network architectures
