Position Title: Material Handler
Wage: $22.00 - $23.00/hour Shift: 1st Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm (Monday - Friday) Feeling underpaid or undervalued? This could be the position that you deserve! Material Handler Responsibilities: - Pull, verify, and deliver materials and supplies from inventory to designated production areas - Move steel and other materials as needed to support production schedules and workflow - Operate overhead cranes to lift, move, and position steel and other heavy materials safely, following established procedures - Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment to transport materials throughout the facility - Stage raw materials for production and finished products for storage or shipment - Receive, inspect, sort, and organize incoming materials and supplies - Prepare finished products for shipment by identifying, packing, labeling, loading, and securing materials - Maintain accurate inventory records, document material movement, and report shortages or discrepancies - Verify returned materials by checking part numbers, lot numbers, and quantities - Perform pre-use inspections of material-handling equipment and report any maintenance or safety concerns - Maintain clean and organized inventory, production, and loading areas - Follow all workplace safety procedures when handling, lifting, and moving materials - Work closely with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are available when needed Requirements for Material Handler: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred - Previous warehouse, material handling, or inventory experience preferred - Previous forklift or pallet jack operating experience preferred - Experience operating an overhead crane and moving steel materials preferred - Relevant equipment training and authorization required before operating overhead cranes or other powered material-handling equipment - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment - Good time management and problem-solving skills - Basic knowledge of inventory control and material-handling procedures - Basic computer, email, and tablet skills - Basic math, reading, writing, and communication skills - Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout a 10-hour shift - Ability to safely handle and move steel and other heavy materials - Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and production requirements - Ability to work independently and as part of a team IND012 QPS Employment Group is a full-service staffing firm comprised of dedicated and passionate people with over 50 offices throughout the United States.
